About Me

I've enjoyed imaginative world building for as long as I can remember. My childhood was completely absorbed by fantasies which took me deep into the hearts of magical forests, edges of distant kingdoms and all the places in between. I am a teenage author, who loves to utilize my vast curiosity and explore it through creative writing. Aside from creative writing, I spend my time staying physically active by participating distance running. In the summer, I also like to swim, camp and hike when I am not exploring one of my many other interests:

Cross Country and Track

I started running when I was in seventh grade for my middle school's Track and Field team. Immediately, I knew I wanted to run distance and started competing in 1500m and 3000m race. When I reached high school, were I'm competing for the women's varsity Cross Country team and with they competed in the State Championship two years in a row. I still participate in Track and run both the 1500m and 3,000m races.

Linguistics

At about eleven and a half years old, I became extremely

interested in linguistics but it wasn't until seventh grade did I start to research more about it. This is when I realized that I could teach myself any language I wanted. Today, I'm continuing to teach myself Greek to connect with my heritage and Spanish for school and am excelling in the subject. These are the primary languages I'm learning, but I'm also interested in exploring Arabic, Latin, French and Chinese. Usually, I'll use my new linguistic vocabulary to form unique names for my characters. For example, in Blank, the teacher of truth and fiction is appropriately named "Alithia", which is the translated Greek word for "truth".

Philosophy

One of the many things I have to thank my parents for was that they always spoke to me and my sister like we were adults. Which lead to long discussions after school about science, well being, metaphysics, epistemology or whatever was on our minds at the time. These discussions greatly expanded not only my knowledge of the world but my interest in it. Granting me even more material to create my stories. Engaging in philosophical discussion played a major role in my personal development and I often struggled to find someone to talk to without being turned down. Luckily, in high school I was able to find peers of similar interest and together, we built Philosophy Club and found  more individuals interested in our hypothetical conversations.

Biology

Early in the Covid-19 pandemic, when school was shut down for two weeks, my mom decided to homeschool my sister and I. One of the subjects she taught me was biology and I absolutely fell in love with it. All of a sudden I started incorporating it into all of my stories and creating "The Empire of One", as I call it in a story I have yet to write down, using my knowledge of the processes of cloning.

Choir

I've always liked to sing as a way of relieving stress and worry. However, I never took official music classes until I joined high school choir. I found that I enjoyed performing and continued throughout Freshman year and was voted VIP for Concert choir. Today, I remain in choir and continue to practice and develop my vocal abilities.
