Summer Writing Goals

Summer offers a unique chance for authors to focus, grow, and push their writing projects forward. With longer days and often fewer distractions, this season can become a powerful period to set clear goals and make meaningful progress. This is why I am taking advantage of this time to expand my writing further and host more author centered events.
Preparing Manuscripts
I love to write a multitude of things at once, and though I've been able to keep most of the details from these stories sharp, this method has limitations as I am only human. However, I have been able to focus more on my sequel for The Place Between Nowhere: Blank, which I am currently writing its 17th chapter and would ideally have the manuscript drafted by the end of August, but that is rather ambitious.
To complete this goal, I will carve out 30 minutes to an hour each day dedicated to writing specifically in my sequel, however this time frame will remain variable throughout the day so I may still write when inspired and not begin to feel as though writing the sequel has become a chore. A real risk that is the primary threat to my goal of having the manuscript drafted. Of course it will likely be another year until I have the manuscript refined and edited.
I will also be practicing story boarding and creating a short story I intend to submit to the Oregon Literary contest for authors, likely featuring The Rise of The Game Lord. This will help provide some variety in my work to keep me engaged with my own stories.
That is why I am also working on:
Blank's prequel
The Rise of the Game Lord
The Lore of the Unum (although I might not sure if this will be a separate book or a short story posted on my free writing samples and/or character summaries under Unum's name, nor do I know when it will be published)
Social Media Goals
During the school year, I have not had a lot of time to allocate to social media updates, however I intend to change this at least for the summer. Here is roughly what I intend to do:
Blog posts
I intend to post once or twice a month to announce up coming author events and updates regarding Blank's sequel, as well as any short stories that I may soon add to the AlitaVerse.
Instagram & Face Book Updates
Instagram and Face Book will be used to up date readers about author events and teasers for my sequel. I will also make sure to share more about who I am as a person.
Youtube videos
Here I intend to film how my author events go, more about my creative process and what it is like to be a young author in a highly competitive world of literature.
