The AlitaVerse on the Street: Meet the Author

I have two big announcements! One I have obtained membership to the Saturday Market in Eugene, Oregon. Two, I have been accepted as a new vender at FACE Florence festival of books.

The Saturday Market was extremely easy to apply to and the membership fee of $85 (a lot more expensive than I was expecting) for a year long membership also covers the cost for the Holiday market that occurs in the Eugene event center, although requires a different application. I am designing my book display now with my dad to be optimal for strolling around the market, as that is the cheapest option requiring $5 every saturday plus 10% of the sales I make for that day. I would like to start in August but my attendance throughout the fall will be variable and I will let you know here on the alitaverse when I will be available at the market. I would love to connect with you and sign your copy of Blank if you have one.

As for the FACE Florence festival of books, I was pointed towards the application by one of the co-owners of Books'n'Bears an adorably cozy book store in Florence, who bought s copy of The Place Between Nowhere: Blank during my second book tour. I applied in late May, and I received a phone call in early July.

Her name was Rachel Parsen, who called me during an online webinar with "Students Interested in Health Professions" so I wasn't able to call her back until the next day. Rachel happily explained that I was accepted as new vender for FACE Florence festival of books. She said since I only have one book so far, I would be grouped with other young authors under eighteen and would be allowed to sell books free of charge! It is a phenomenal opportunity to network with current authors of all ages, attend writer's workshops and more, especially since I am not a resident of Florence and a teen author at that, on a usually I wouldn't have been accepted, but luckily this wasn't the case. FACE Florence festival of books will happen on September 26th at Florence's event center, and by then I will have my book display ready.

I am very excited about these two opportunities and hope to give you further information as to what dates I will be attending the Saturday Market. It'll be nice to see you there. :)
